PestCert Technical and CPD Management Committee - Terms of Reference

The overall responsibility of the Technical and CPD Management Committee is to advise the PestCert Board on all technical aspects of the operation of PestCert. The Committee is to act as an independent committee with transparency, fairness and integrity, delivering a cost effective and valued service which encourages pest management technicians to willingly become involved in accreditation and professional development.

The TCMC will assume responsibility for and make recommendation to the PestCert Board on:

  1. The criteria and requirements used for:
    • Accreditation.
    • Allocation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points to training activities and events.
    • Compliance and quality auditing.
  2. The appointment of appropriate groups / individuals to conduct:
    • CPD appraisals.
    • Auditing
  3. The monitoring of the effectiveness of the accreditation and CPD Program in delivering improved professionalism through skill and knowledge improvement within the pest management industry.
  4. The auditing of events / presentations, CPD appraisal bodies, accredited businesses for compliance against the agreed criteria.
  5. A review in conjunction with key industry stakeholders at regular (around every 12 to 18 months) of the criteria and processes used for the allocation of CPD points. Implement changes when necessary.
  6. Advice on any technical issue relating to accreditation, CPD and auditing to the PestCert Board.
