PestCert Requirements

The requirements of the Management System, called elements, are grouped into four sections.

  • Quality management
  • Vehicles and equipment
  • Chemicals and environment
  • Animal welfare

Each element describes the outcomes required and the practices necessary to ensure compliance.

Elements are classed as either Essential or Aspirational.

Essential elements must be complied with by all participants in the system. Businesses should be working towards the Aspirational elements, fulfilling the aim of continuous improvement.

Induction Requirement

All existing and new PestCert members must complete the PestCert Induction program.

Maintaining up-to-date versions of external documents is essential.External documents are those generated by someone outside the enterprise.

Accredited Enterprises must have current copies of all relevant PestCert documents on site.

Each Accredited Enterprise will also need to maintain current copies of Australian Standards and / or Codes of Practice relevant to their activities.

Examples of these documents include (but are not limited to):

  • A Code of Practice for the Control of Bed Bug Infestations in Australia
  • AS3660: Termite Management
  • A Code of Practice for Pest Management in the Food Industry in Australia and New Zealand
  • A Code of Practice of Prior to Purchase Timber Pest Inspections
